IEA Task IV: Deep geothermal resources

A new international information exchange collaboration program has been organized in the framework of the International Energy Association (IEA). Tasks which will be undertaken in the program {open_quotes}Implementing Agreement for a Co-operative Programme on Geothermal Energy Research and Technology{close_quotes} include a task on {open_quotes}Deep Geothermal Resources.{close_quotes} This task has been proposed by Japan, and will be undertaken by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) in cooperation with the Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ). The Agreement will be signed in October or November 1996 and will go on for four years. The results of the work conducted in the collaboration program will be presented at the World Geothermal Congress in 2000 and other international conferences.
