New type of random coincidences (in French)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4932561
A possible source of errors, which appears to have been misunderstood until now, is pointed out. It is possible to alter coincidence countings if simple precautions are not taken: one pulse (beta or gamma) may occasionally generate two random coincidences. It appears that this complication can be avoided if the resolution time for the coincidences does not exceed an upper limit imposed by the dead times of the two channels. (FR)
