THE DETERMINATION OF RADIOSILVER

Radiosilver with added silver carrier was separated from other flssion products by a chloride precipitatlon. After dissolution of the silver chloride in ammonia solution, silver sulftde was precipitated, and further purification was achieved by scavenging wlth ferric hydroxide, followed by precipitation of the sllver as the sulfide and then the iodide, which is counted. The method is applicable to solutions of fission products in nitric or hydrochloric acid. (auth)
