HYPERFINE STRUCTURE IN TERBIUM METAL

Journal Article · · Proc. Phys. Soc. (London)
The hyperfine contribution to the specific heat of terbium metal as previously measured (NSA, 12: 13803) was smaller than that expected from electron paramagnetic resonance experiments (NSA, 12: 11160). It is shown that this discrepancy may be resolved when the electric quadrupole interaction with the Tb/ sup 159/ nucleus is considered. (L.N.N.)
