RESPONSE OF MICROWAVE TREATED DOGS TO IONIZING RADIATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4838127
One or more months after dogs were exposed to 2800 Mcycle/sec microwaves at field intensities of 100 and 165 mw/cm/sup 2/, they received ionizing radiation to the head (10,000 r); bilateral to the whole body (340 r); or lower body from the xipho~d process caudad (950 r). Normal dogs were subjected to similar ionizing radiation. Clinical response and mortality data are suggestive of a modified response to ionizing radiation in animals previously exposed to microwaves.
