A review is given of the part played by crystal investigations. in coordination chemistry. An attempt is made to formulate general steriochemical conclusions from x-ray diffraction analyses of various complex compounds. A detailed analysis is given of the crystal chemistry of complex compounds of the 8th group, showing the dependence of complex structure on the nature of the central atom and its addends. 126 references.
