The chemical technology of metal complexes with hydroxy acids was reviewed. The synthesis of complex compounds, physico-chemical methods of analysis, composition and stability of tartrate and citrate complexes, and the relation between the stability of complexes and the structure of the oxy acid addends are discussed, as well as the applications of tartaric and other acids in metal analysis and determination. 278 references are included.
