Measurement of the Neutron Temperature in the Core of the RFR by the Reactivity Method; MESSUNGEN DER NEUTRON-ENTEMPERATUR IN DER AKTIVEN ZONE DES RFR MIT HILFE DER REAKTIVITATSMETHODE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4836085
By comparing the amplitudes of neutron flux oscillations produced by samples of Cd, B, Au, Ag, and In, the neutron temperature in the core of the Rossendorf Research Reactor (RFR) was determined as 374 plus or minus 35 deg K. The influence of sample self-shielding is calculated; the influence of the epithermal absorption is eliminated partially by calculation and partially by special measurements. (auth)
