LIFETIMES OF SOME ROTATIONAL LEVELS

The lifetimes of a number of rotational nuclear levels are measured in a pulsed-beam experiment. Gamma rays are counted and timed in a cooled unactivated NaI crystal. The excited states investigated are the first-excited levels in Gd/ sup 158/, Yb/sup 172/, Ub/sp 174/, Yb/sup 176/, Hf/sup 177. W/sup 182/, W/sup 184/, and W/sup 186/ (auth)
