CASCADE COULOMB EXCITATION OF ROTATIONAL LEVELS WITH 4$sup +$ AND 6$sup +$ SPINS (in Russian)

Cascade Coulomb excitation of rotational levels of the Sm, Gd, Er, and W isotopes was studied. Targets enriched with isotopes of the indicated elements were bombarded with 50-Mev N/sup 14/ ions from a cyclotron. Coincidences of gamma quarta emitted as a result of Coulomb excitation and inelastically scattered ions were recorded. The ions were recorded with a p-n silicon detector. Cascade coulomb excitation of rotational levels with a spin and parity 4/sup +/ was observed in Sm/sup 154/, Gd/sup 154/, Gd/sup 156/, Gd/sup 158/, Gd/sup 160/, Er/sup 164/, Er/sup 166/, Er/sup 168/, Er/sup 170/, W/sup 182/, W/sup 184/, and W/ sup 186/ nu clei and rotational levels with spin and parity 6/sup +/ in Sm/sup 154/ and Gd/sup 160/ nuclei. The results are compared with the theory of cascade Coulomb excitation developed by Alder and Winter. For most of the nuclei the agreement with the theory is good. The tungsten and Gd/sup 154/ isotopes are exceptions, the observed yield being smaller than that calculated from the theory. (auth)
