K* AND LEPTONIC DECAYS OF K MESON AND $lambda$ HYPERON
The effect of the (K pi ) resonance (K*) on K/sub e3/ and lambda l hyperon beta -decay is considered, In particular the pi spectrum in K/sub e3/ decay is calculated by considering two probable spin the pi spectru m is not sensitive to thc spin of K*. Form factors for lambda hyperon beta -decay are also calculated for the two cases, Remarks about the conserved-vector-current hypothesis in these decays are made, (auth) l969l The optical model, in a general form, is used to analyze the experimental data on elastic proton-proton scattering at 8.5 Bev. Different models for the two-nucleon potential, excluding spin-dependent potentials, are tried; it is found that eaeh model fits the experimental data equally well. Thc rms radius of the proten is approximatedly the same in each model; the value obtained is approximately 1.0 or 1.2 fermi depending on whether no real potential or the maximum possible value of the real potential is included tn the calculations. The maximum value of the real potemtial consistent with thc experimental total and elastee cross sections is approxiamately two-thirds of the cor-
