The Research Centei of Union Carbide Nuclear Company is described along wtth its 5-Mw swimming pool-type research reactor. The reactor core can be located in either of two sections of the demineralized light water-filled pool. One section is open for bulk irradiaitons. The other section contains six beam tubes, two pneumatic shuttle tubes, and a graphite-filled thermal column. Brief descriptions are given of radioactive waste liquid treatment, ventilation system, radiochemical laboratory, maintenance shop, experimental facilities, and radioactive materials laboratory.
