SHIELDING CALCULATIONS FOR DAPHNE REACTOR. PART I

DAPHNE is an enriched-U-fueled, heavy-water-moderated and -reflected reactor with a maximum design power of 100 w. It has radial shielding consisting of 2 ft x 2 ft x 6 ft Portland cement blocks in a staggered double layer. The doses from fast neutrons, core gamma rays, and capture gamma rays outside the radial shielding are calculated to be 0.3, 2.4, and 2.9 mr/hr, respectively. (T.F.H.)
