STERILITY, STILLBIRTH, INFANT DEATH, AND SEX RATIO OF OFF-SPRINGS OF X-RAY WORKERS (ENGLISH TEXT)

Journal Article · · Nagoya Journal of Medical Science (Japan)
OSTI ID:4828420
Questionnaires were sent to 243 x-ray workers in Aichi Prefecture of Japan and 260 non-exposed controls. Primary sterility with statistical significance was seen in the exposed group more frequently than in the control. This is probably due to the large radiation dose received in the 2-year period before and after the marriage. Secondary sterility, stillbirth and abortion, infant death, and average number of children per person were about the same in both groups. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 5, May 1962).
