PRACTICE OF GONADAL PROTECTION IN X-RAY STUDY OF HIP JOINTS OF INFANTS

Journal Article · · Hiroshima Igaku (Japan)
OSTI ID:4733117
In phantom experiments, measurements were made on the gonadal dose in x- ray examination of the hip joint in infants. When protective measures were applied, the gonadal dose was reduced to about 1/14 in the male and about 1/6 in the female, as compared with non-protective exposure. The dose reduction rate was about the same level in routine screening and in roentgenophotographic examination. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 11, Nov. 1962)
