STUDIES ON THE EFFECTS OF RADIATION AND VARIOUS CHEMICALS UPON THE ELECTROKINETIC POTENTIAL OF SARCOMA CELLS

Journal Article · · Nippon Igaku Hoshasen Gakkai Zasshi (Japan)

The electrokinetic potentials for 5 types of sarcoma were compared by converting their speed in electrophoresis into mobility values. The effects of various chemicals and x rays upon the mobility of MTK sarcoma ll and Yoshida sarcoma cells were investigated. X irradiation temporarily depressed the mobility of MTK III and Yoshida sarcoma cells, but not to an equal degree. The changes of mobility caused by various chemicals and x rays corresponded in general with the changes in mitotic frequency caused by the same chemicals and x rays. (auth)
