THE THEORY OF IMPACT WAVE BROADENING AND THE CANAL DEVELOPMENT IN STRONG SPARK DISCHARGES (in German)

The formula given by S. I. Drabkina for the velocity of the impact waves occurring in strong spark discharges was expanded to random symmetry ratios. The homogeneous case was discussed further in dependence on experiment. By suitable specialization of the energy function found in the general formula, the experimentally found maximum in the impact wave velocity could be described theoretically. Some remarks are also given on the theory of canal development. (tr-auth)
