A Si semiconductor counter was irradiated with neutrons at energies of 14.1, 14.4, and 14.6 Mev and the alpha spectrum from Si/sup 28/ (n, alpha )Mg/ sup 25/ was recorded. An excitation energy range from 0.6 Mev was measured for the transitions to excited levels of Mg/sup 25/. For the reaction Si/sup 29/(n, alpha )Mg/sup 26/ the transition to the ground state and to the first excited state was recorded. (tr-auth)
