STUDIES OF THE (n,$alpha$) AND (n,p) REACTION IN Si$sup 28$ AT 14 Mev BY A COINCIDENCE METHOD

Reactions induced in Si/sup 28/ by 13.90 Mev neutrons were studied with a triple coincidence arrangement. Pulse height distributions are given for reactions attributed to Si/sup 28/(n,p)Al/sup 28/, Si/sup 28/(n,d)Al/sup 27/, and Si/sup 28/(n, alpha )Mg/s up 25/, and are compared to the spectrum from a single detector. Cross sections for the transitions to the first four excited states of Mg/sup 25/ are given relative to the cross section for the ground state transition. (H.D.R.)
