Radiochemically pure and well defined labeled compounds are the basis for carrying out many investigations in science and technology. The syntheses of methanol-C/sup 14/, methyl-C/sup 14/ iodide, C/sup 14/ nitromethane, C/sup 14/- pantolax, and C/sup 14/-caraitin are described as examples of the methods for the preparation of C/sup 14/-labeled organic compounds.
