NUCLEAR REACTORS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4820835
The axes of the parallel channels of a nuclear reactor are positioned in the surfaces of a number of concentric cylinders, the distance between two adjacent axes in the same cylinder being the same for all the concentric cylinders. Preferably, the distance between adjacent cylindrical surfaces does not change. According to another embodiment, the distance between adjacent surfaces decreases progressively with increasing cylinder diameter. Suitably, the headers for the coolant have an annular shape and are arranged one after the other in such a way that in vertical section the centers of their cross sections lie on a curve whose slope always has the same sign.
