Gravimetric determination of zirconium by precipitation with phenyl- phosphoric acid as ZrO (C/sub 6/H/sub 5/PO/sub 3/H)/sub 2/-2H/sub 2/O is suggested. The precipitate is ignited at 900 to 1000 deg to ZrP/sub 2/ O/sub 7. The quantity of xirconium is found by multiplying the precipitate weight by the empirical factor 0.321. The method was used for the determination of zirconium in titanium-containing alloys. (auth)
