USE OF THE TERRESTRIAL MAGNETIC FIELD FOR THE STUDY OF COSMIC RAYS OR MAGNETIC ACTIVITY

Journal Article · · Ann. geofis. (Rome)
OSTI ID:4819651
An attempt is made to show how the use of a conventional field, intermediate between the values of the dipole field and those of the real field at Earth level, which previously helped to explain such discrepancies in the case of magnetic activity results, also makes it possible to explain similar discrepancies in cosmic ray results. Attention is thus directed towards the fact that the geomagnetic coordinates may perhaps have to be abandoned in the interpretation of geophysical phenomena. (Meteorol. Geoastrophys.
