THE DIAGRAMS OF URANIUM MONOCAR-BIDE-TRANSITION METAL SYSTEMS

Phase diagrams were determined for the UC--Cr, UCFe, UC-- Ni, and UC- UFe/sub 2/ systems. No evidence of solid solubility was found in the UC--Cr, UC- Fe, and the UC-UFe/sub 2/ systems and these are of the simple binary eutectic type. The UC-Ni system is more complicated and the results obtained indicate the existence of both binary and ternary eutectics. (auth)
