A NUMBER OF PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL FEATURES OF MICE HAVING A VARYING NATURAL RADIOSENSITIVITY

The LD/sub 50/30/ dose was found to be 563 r for the Kryukovskli mice, 536 r for the CC/sub 57/ brown mlce, 457 r for the CH/sub 3/H (Rappolovo) mlce, and 442 r for the VALV/c strain. The CC/sub 57/ brown mlce and the Dryukovo mlce were found to have a large absolute and relative weight-for the liver and spleen, and also a large golter. No correlation could be found between the welght of the suprarenal glands or testls and sensitlvity to ionizlng radiation. Histochemical analysis showed that the content of catechol amines in the suprarenal glands was hlghest ln the Kryukovskil mice, and lowest ln the VALV/c mlce. The more radioresistant line of mlce also showed a lower content of glycogen in the liver. (TTT)
