TYCHE, A MONTE CARLO SLOWING DOWN CODE
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4813075
TYCHE is a Monte Carlo code designed to find the second, fourth, and sixth moments of the neutron slowing down density distribution in an infinite homogeneous medium. Analytic techniques are used to reduce the number of random variables and recursive relations to generate the moments. The code was written in the FORTRAN language for the IBM-7090 computer; typical running time is 5 to 10 minutes for 5000 neutron histories. Cross sections and anisotropic scattering coefficients for ten elements are attached to the deck as a binary library. (auth)
