A re-entrant cooling system is designed for reactors. The system comprises two tubes, an outer tube with a closed end and an inner tube with an open end in the vicinity of the closed end of the outer tube; the part of the inner tube equipped with nuclear fuel is made out of zirconium and the part free from fuel is made out of mild steel.
