A re-entrant cooling system for a graphite-moderated, sodium-cooled reactor is designed comprising inner and outer concentric tubes disposed between the hot and cold sodium tanks in such a manner that cold sodium enters the outer tube, flows over the fuel elements, and then exits to the hot sodium tank via the inner tube. The tubes and ports for sodium passage are designed so that the flow rate is controlled by rotating the inner tube relative to the outer tube. (D.L.C.)
