The yields of various products containing Br/sup 82/ in neutron irradiations of C/sub 2/H/sub 2/Br-C/sub 6/H/sub 6/ solutions were determined in relation to the quantitative composition of the mixture. The yields of hydrogen replacement products in benzene from Hg/sup 203/ and Br/sup 82/ recoil atoms following (n, gamma ) reactions in benzene-HgBr/sub 2/ solutions were also determined. The mechanism of hydrogen replacement in recoil atom reactions was analyzed in order to clarify published data. (R.V.J.)
