Reactions of tritium recoil on benzene halogen derivatives were studied in order to determine the influence of chemical bond on tritium recoil reactions. Tabulated data for C/sub 6/H/sub 5/-Cl, C/sub 6/H/sub 5/--Br, and CBH/sub 5/--I bond energies i ndicate that the yield of labeling benzene depends on the bond energy of C/sub 6/H/sub 5/; the weaker the bond energy the higher the yield of labeling benzene formed by halide atom replacement. It is also shown that molecular iodine does not affect the yield. The yield of labeling products of tritium recoil with fluorobenzene was tabulated and analyzed. (R.V.J.)
