INFLUENCE OF IRRADIATION UPON THE SKIN pH

Journal Article · · Nippon Igaku Hoshasen Gakkai Zasshi (Japan)
OSTI ID:4810499
A new type of glass electrode was made to measure skin pH. By means of this electrode skin pH values were measured in rabbits after either whole-body or local lrradlation of 450 r. Diminution of pH values of the skin after lrradia tion was not reduced progressively but by 3 small wavelike alterations of pH, which were observed for 60 min. Diminution of pH value after irradiation was independent of the dosage administered, but the larger the dose the longer was the period during which the diminished stage of the primary pH continued.
