INTERACTION OF CaZrO$sub 3$ WITH SOME OXIDES AT HIGH TEMPERATURES
The interaction of CaZrO/sub 3/, synthesized at 1350, 1500, or 1600 deg C, with pure ZrO/sub 2/, TiO/sub 2/, SiO/sub 2/, ThO/sub 2/, Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ at high temperatures was studied. Pressed and fired disk-shaped specimens of CaZrO/ sub 3/ were heated in a Silit furnace for 2 hr at l350 to 1450 deg C in contact with specimens prepared from the oxides, and placed on disks. After heating, the disks were subjected to chemical analysis, which showed that CaZrO/sub 3/ begins to react with SiO/sub 2/ and TiO/sub 2/ at 1350 deg C, while with ZrO/sub 2/, ThO/sub 2/, and Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ there is no reaction even at 1450 deg C.
