CS-137 BURDENS IN SWEDISH LAPLANDERS AND REINDEER

The content of Cs/sup 137/ in reindeers in Sweden and in the Laplanders who have a pronounced reindeer-meat diet was studied. Measurements of reindeer meat produced in the areas where the Laplanders studied live gave a Cs/sup 137/ content of 24 nc/kg. The Laplanders showed a Cs/sup 137/ activity 30 to 45 times as high as the average of 8.0 nc of the control group at Lund, Sweden. (M.C.G.)
