A hammer track is described and shown that is interpreted as being produced by the reaction Li//sup 9/ yields Beg /su;p 9*/ + BETA /sup nu followed by Be//sup 9*/ yields 2 alpha + n. The angle ( THETA ) of non- collinearity between the alpha particles is near 35 , whereas if the hammer track were produced by the decay of Li/sup 8/ THETA could not exceed about 6 deg . (T.F.H.)
