Ca 200 hammer tracks from primary 9 Bev proton interactions with heavy emulsion nuclei were collected. An analysis of possible blases was done in a sample of some 100 hammer tracks not limited in inclination. Using a width measurement method and correctlng the results for the inclined tracks, the B fragments were separated from Li fragments in 90 to 95% of all the events. The full kinematical analysis of Li/sup 9/ decay and critical analysis of measurement data made it posslble to draw some conclusions concerning the method of identification and the relative frequency of emission of these fragments. The energy spectrum of alpha 's from Li/sup 8/was found and compared with other theoretical and experimental results. (auth)
