ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY AT LOW CONCENTRATIONS. Sixth Annual Report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4804531
The possibility of accurate amperometric titration of low concentrations of nitrite ion with potassium permanganate was confirmed. Difficulties encountered in the rapid microdetermination of mercury in the presence of ethylenediamine also appear to have been overcome. A simple automatic potentiometric titrator was brought to the stage where setting-up and operation are straightforward. Work on the preparation, polarography, and use in amperometric titration of quinoline derivatives is described. A promising method for the determination of microgram quantities of chloride was also developed. This involves the electrolytic deposition of chloride on a mercury microelectrode, followed by cathodic stripping. (auth)
