TRANSISTORIZED SERIES REGULATOR FOR ANALYZING MAGNET

Journal Article · · Rev. Sci. Instr.
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1063/1.1746575· OSTI ID:4802990
A current regulator is described whose purpose is to eliminate noise in a motor-generator and beam-analyzing magnet system. Current variations are transfornmed into voltage variations and amplified. The output of the amplifier controls the transistorized series regulator, producing a voltage that exactly cancels the brush noise of the generator. Means are described whereby voltages across the transistors are kept below 15 v. The regulator reduces fluctuations to less than 33 ppm. (T.F.H.)
