A discharge-current regulator is described for an LG-106M-1 argon-ion laser that employs six KT825D transistors and suppresses current fluctuation in the range of 1-10/sup 5/ Hz. A feature of the regulator is the presence of a protective ring for control of the collector voltage of the transistor regulator, which maintains the voltage in the range of 0-1 Hz at the minimum level sufficient for operation of the current-regulation ring (approx. 10 V), which simplifies the transistor regulator and increases the reliability of the entire laser power supply. The regulator is implemented as an independent unit and is connected to the discharge circuit of the argon-ion laser; it can be used with uncontrolled voltage supplies the fluctuation of whose rectified voltage is in the dynamic range of the protective ring. With the regulator connected to the discharge circuit of a stock LG-106M-1 or LGN-502 laser, a mean-square residual current fluctuation of up to 0.1% is obtained.
