Preliminary analytic work on non-scaling spiral sector FFAG accelerators

Approximate analytical results are given for non-scaling spiral sector FFAG Accelerators. The equilibrium orbit scalloping was calculated, as well as the betatron oscillation frequencies in the smooth approximation. The effects of derivatives of k, 1/w, and flutter appeared to be small; νx and νy were given fairly accurately by the local value of these parameters. The transition energy was determined essentially by the local value of k. (auth)
