An emergency shut-down device of the type described in British Patent 882,361, in which neutron-absorbent pellets are allowed to fall into a duct in the core, is designed with means for resetting the equipment after a trip. The means comprises a plunger at the bottom of the duct and which may be raised to lift the pellets to the inoperative position. (D.L.C.)
