THE OCCURRENCE OF CHROMOSOMAL ABERRATIONS IN PRE-SPERMATOCYTIC CELLS OF IRRADIATED MALE MICE. Progress Report for period February 1, 1961-January 31, 1962, and Fourth Renewal Proposal for period June 1, 1962-May 31, 1963

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4801087
Research designed to determine the nature and extent of radiation damage to the chromosome system of prespermatocytic cells was carried out. Male mice are being subjected to x-ray treatment of the testes, at three different radiation dosages, The treated individuals and suitable untreated controls are mated to females of standard inbred strains. All offspring produced by each male throughout the remainder of his life, but not exceeding 24 months, will be tested for the presence of chromosomal aberrations capable of producing semi-sterility. All semisterile lines will be analyzed cyhologically. (auth)
