DECAY OF Sr$sup 8$$sup 9$

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.
The decay of Sr/sup 89/ was re-investigated in an effort to find a approximately 10 d isomeric state previously reported. No appreci-able production of such an isomer hy means of neutron capture has been observed. In addition a 0.913 Mev gamma ray activity with a measured half life of 50.1 plus or minus 3.4 d, attributed by some investigators to the decay of Sr/sup 89/, was confirmed by half life experiments. The half life of Sr/sup 89/ was determined to be 53.6 plus or minus 0.4. The nucleus Sr/sup 89/ decays to Y/sup 89m/ to the extent of approximately 0.01%. (auth)
