Radiation Control Around the Proton Synchrotron Saturne; CONTROLE DES RADIATIONS AUPRES DU SYNCHROTRON A PROTONS SATURNE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4800152
S>After giving the main characteristics of the synchrotron at Saclay, the general arrangements made for ensuring the safety of the personnel including specification of radiation levels, automatic devices, and visual indications are given along with a description of the means employed for radiation detection. These detection methods include fixed gamma and fast neutron detectors whose indications are centralized on a radiation control panel, and mobile detectors for specific or more precise measurements. Results of radiation level measurements and some results of the diminishing of radiation intensity by wood, concrete, and water are given. (auth)
