MEASURING METHODS IN NUCLEAR PHYSICS. PART II (in German)

Journal Article · · Elektron. Rundschau
OSTI ID:4797009
>Although the development work on the scintillation counter is still not concluded, it is already the most important detector for radiation measuring techniques. The technical effort is certainly essentially greater than for counting tubes, but the advantages of a very high gamma response probability, an almost exact energy proportionality, and a very good periodic quenching capacity are so decisive that the high expense appears justifiable. Besides it is made possible though scintillator changes to attain an adaptation to each kind and quality of radiation, making the scintillation counter a typical all-around detector. (tr-auth)
