WHAT EVERY ENGINEER SHOULD KNOW ABOUT STRESS CORROSION OF ALUMINUM

Journal Article · · Metal Progr.
OSTI ID:4796393
Discussion is given on the control of stress corrosion in high-strength aluminum alloys, factors causing stress corrosion, accelerated corrosion testing, variations in test specimens, sampling procedures that affect results, evaluating exposure tests, and correlation of test environments. Special attention is given to good engineering practices which have reduced the degree of susceptibility to such a level that their use has not been hampered. (P.C.H.)
