A FAST, HIGH-CURRENT PHOTOMULTIPLIER

Journal Article · · IRE Trans. on Nuclear Sci. NS-9
The development of the dynode section of a sub-nsec photomultiplier with an output of >2 amp is described. The estimated transit time per stage is about 0.3 nsec, with a spread of about 0.01 nsec. Results using 12 dynodes are outlined. The tube has a very short accelerationdeceleration region, which gives a short transit time and a small transit-time dispersion. (T.F.H.)
