The Influence of Xenon Poisoning in High-Flux Reactors on the Choice of Control Rod Speeds; INFLUENCE DE L'EMPOISONNEMENT XENON DANS LES PILES A HAUT FLUX SUR LE CHOIX DE LA VITESSE DES BARRES DE CONTROLE

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4792805

The general laws of changes in Xe and I concentrations in thermal reactors are restated, assuming an uniform neutron flux distribution in the core. It is shown how Xe poisoning influences the selection of control rod speed at start-up. Certain simple methods of calculation are developed making it possible to resolve the problem of the choice of this speed in the case where Xe poisoning is taken into account. (auth)
