Kinetics of Samarium Poisoning in Very High Flux Reactors; CINETIQUE DE L'EMPOISONNEMENT SAMARIUM DANS LES PILES ATOMIQUES A TRES HAUT FLUX

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4049142

The general laws are given concerning the evolution of the samarium concentration in thermal neutron atomic reactors in the case of a uniform distribution of the neutron flux in the core. An analysis of the changes in the samarium poisoning alone and the samarium plus xenon poisoning is then made for various working conditions. The evolution of these poisonings is then studied in the case of further start-up of the reactor. A certain number of conclusions are given in connection with the reactivity balance and with the possibilities of a further set-up as a function of the average flux. (auth)
