A SIMPLE ATTACHMENT FOR OPERATING A COUNTING IONIZATION CHAMBER (in German)
A simple attachment, which makes it possible to operate a 4 pi ionization chamber in connection with a counter, is described. The counter supplies voltage for the ionization chamber and the attachment, and also serves as a timer. Radioactive isotopes can be measured accurately with this arrangement. Measurement reproducibility is extremely good, with an error of less than 15%. The simplicity of the attachment makes it dependable in operation. It can be used in connection with any counter whose timing mecharism can be externally controlled. If a proper counter is available, the attachment provides a cheap substitute for expensive measurement amplifiers with an electrometer amplifier or vibrating condenser.
