BS>A resistance of high value and an electrometer are connected in series to a charged condenser. The two electrodes connected across the terminals of the electrometer are arranged in a closed chamber forming an ionization chamber. One of the electrodes is connected to the wall of the chamber while the other electrode is insulated. For measuring low-intensity fields, a Geiger- Mueller counter may be used and the two electrodes of this counter then connected to the electrodes of the electrometer.
